I build accessible, maintainable web interfaces. For fourteen years I was the sole developer of the Ithaca College Library’s website. Along the way I built custom Angular components for its search platform, interactive React tutorials, and much of the glue between its library systems.
I’m open to front-end and web development roles, remote or in the Ithaca area.
Experience
Web Services Librarian (Front-End Development), Ithaca College, February 2012 – October 2026
- Designed, built, and maintained the library’s 90+ page PHP/MySQL website.
- Built custom Angular/TypeScript components for the library’s migration to Ex Libris Primo NDE, a search platform used by thousands of academic libraries: an interactive stack map (canvas overlay on responsive floor plans, driven by JSON location data and call-number sorting logic), a problem-reporting action, a permalink dialog, and cross-service search links.
- Designed a configurable, JSON-driven React application for presenting interactive instructional materials.
- Conducted a WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility audit across the library’s web properties using WAVE and Lighthouse, remediating color contrast, alt text, and ARIA labeling issues.
- Ran usability testing of the website and search platform, including on mobile devices, and used findings to guide interface revisions.
Natural Sciences Librarian, Ithaca College, July 2007 – January 2012
- Liaison to the Departments of Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, and Environmental Studies.
Science & Technology Coordinator, Assistant Librarian, University of Tennessee at Knoxville, September 2002 – June 2007
Science Reference Librarian, University at Albany, 1999 – 2002
